Hero Engineering awarded electrical, instrumentation, control and safety system detailed design and coding for Stage 2 of the AnaeCo DiCOM AWT Facility in Shenton Park. Stage 2 is the commercialisation of the 55,000 tpa DiCOM process that will provide Energy, recycled material and compost to the Perth market. The plant automation comprises gas analysers and over 150 drives controlled via Profibus DP and Profibus PA for instrumentation. The plant safety systems design will incorporate the current Australian machinery safety standards and new IEC standards in readiness for the European market.
Hero Engineering to undertake Safety Systems modifications, SIL validation and commissioning of a Moore Quadlog safety systems. The project will use the HeroSafe Safety Management System in full compliance to IEC61508/IEC61511 to manage all changes and close-out activities.

With the increased requirement of operating companies and functional safety service providers to comply with IEC61508, Hero Engineering has developed the HeroSafe Functional Safety Management System (FSM). HeroSafe covers the functional safety life cycle as documented in IEC61508/61511. The system has been compiled with input from all Hero Engineering FSEngs that have wide industry experience in process and machinery safety.
Hero Engineering engaged by Aibel to undertake a range of SIL assessments and verifications for the Front Puffin FPSO process SIS and FGS. The reviews centred on the original design inputs and the DeltaV SIS implementation. The assessments in addition to complying to IEC 61508/61511 also consider DNV and NORSOK directives for these systems in a marine application. A range of remediation and validation activities were recommended, approved and completed.
